Season Greetings<

Early this morning I was at the beach by Port Darlingon in Bowmanville for
the CBC. There were no other birders or birds except a lot of snow. I
almost got stuck in the deep snow but managed to make it home again. So I
shall report yesterday's backyard feeder report.

I saw the first Red Bellied Woodpecker again since last year. 5 Brown
Headed Cowbirds filled one of the feeders and in a moment of the twinkling
of the eye a Coopers Hawk caught one of them and ate part of it and then
flew off with its prey.

Directions: Take 330 exit off 401 and take Mill St. south towards the lake
but stop on the street at # 590 and look at the feeders north and west of
our home.
