Attention: Gerard McNaughton, Compiler Hanover/Walkerton CBC:

Hello Gerard. As you may have read, I am compiling the Ontario Winter Birding
List for 2008/09. I have had a lot of Ontario birders e-mail me after my
posting earlier this week updating everyone on the 3rd week of the winter bird
list regarding the Broad-winged Hawk reported from the Hanover/Walkerton CBC.

This is an unusual winter species to have on a CBC, given that Broad-wings
generally leave the Province in large concentrations in late September/early
October. There is some question if there has every been a record of Broad-wing
Hawk in the "winter" months in Ontario.

Can you confirm the veracity of the sighting of the Hawk on your CBC?

Thanks.
