Hello.

We spotted a northern shrike on County Road 15 (Kent Bridge Road) this morning
at 11:30. The bird was in between Ridge Line and Concession 9 (Cofell Line)
moving between shrubs lining the ditch and field rows running perpendicular to
the road.

This is the first time I have spotted this species in Chatham-Kent.

The bird flew off to the west but could presumably be hunting in the area as
all the fields are flooded and warm temperatures mean prey are on the move.

To get to County Road 15 - take the 401 east or west to exit 90 (???). Turn
south onto County Road 15 and continue for approx. 7 km until you come to
concession 9. The bird was between concession 9 and Ridge Line.

Regards,
Melisse DeDobbeleer
