Hi Everyone
The Northern Hawk-Owl continues to hunt along Grandview Road off Carling Ave.
There were a few small flocks of both Pine Siskin and White-winged Crossbills
feeding in the spruce and cedar trees along Grandview. At the corner of Rifle
Road and Carling Ave a Northern Shrike was observed along with 1 dark morph
Rough-legged Hawk and 200+ Snow Bunting. In the Woodroffe Ave/Iris St. area
150+ White-winged Crossbills were observed feeding in the neighborhood spruce
trees. Along Moodie Drive near Carling Ave., there was a flock of 150+ Bohemian
Waxwing. A stop at the Trail Road Landfill Site off Moodie Drive near Cambrian
Road produced 16 Glaucous and 7 Iceland Gulls along with 150+ Great
Black-Backed and 70 Herring Gull.
Good birding, Bruce
