Today, my wife Lynne and I set out to see some snowy owls near Ste-Rose.

We had read about Concession road 20, and were greeted by one owl atop a post between county road 8 and Ste-Rose road. There was a sign with number 84 below the post. We drove around, and saw four more scattered around. We drove a large rectangle which included Renaud to the east, county road 3 to the north, Montee Desnoyers to the west, and concession road 20 and 19 to the south; we saw one on almost each one of the mentioned roads. We also came across lots of snow buntings, one flock of horned larks, mourning doves, and possibly one Cooper`s hawk.

Some pictures will be posted at:

Directions. Drive east on 417 from Ottawa, Exit where it says highway 138 (about 50kms). Turn left (going north) over the 417. Turn right onto Concession road 20.
