After leading a bird feeder tour around N.Pickering on Jan.17 I managed to see the following: --15 Horned Larks near the road just to the west of Mt.Zion U.C.(Pick.Conc.8 near sideline 6) --5 Pine Grosbeaks in the trees alongside sideline 12, just north of Conc.8; as you drive this sideline north as far as and beyond conc.9 you will may see more Pine Grosbeaks and old apple trees, and with any luck--Waxwings (indeed, on Jan.15 I believe I saw 5 Bohemian Waxwings before they took off). --at the home of Betty Pegg opposite the Claremont C.A. on Conc.7--superb feeders bring visits by many birds, including a Red-bellied Woodpecker this afternoon, AND a RUSTY BLACKBIRD.
