Hello all,

Unfortunately, it appears as though the folks at Kortright haven't refilled
the feeders for a while, and there was no Hermit Thrush to be had today or
yesterday. The cold weather, however, has attracted several birds to the
feeders with still some seed left, most notably the female RED-BELLIED
WOODPECKER that hasn't been seen since late November of last year. The
feeders which she is visiting are at the bottom of the large hill leading
through the Sugar Maple grove.

Winter Finch numbers continue to grow. PINE SISKINS are still regular
visitors, but more COMMON REDPOLLS have appeared, at both Kortright's
feeders and mine in the nearby town of Maple. WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS have
become less conspicuous, with single birds being seen flying over yesterday
and today. The resident flock of Robins seem to have moved on, but I heard a
distant one today.

DIRECTIONS:

The Kortright Centre is located three kilometers west of Highway 400
and one kilometer south of Major Mackenzie Drive at 9550 Pine Valley
Drive in Woodbridge.
