Birded the Dunrobin area west of Ottawa for owls this afternoon
(January 29, 2009). The Boreal was a no-show, but there was a small
flock of Pine Grosbeaks in its place along March Valley Road.

Further along, on Fifth Line, we watched a Pileated Woodpecker working
on a hydro pole.

Turning left onto Vance's Side (towards Dunrobin Road), we spotted a
Great Gray Owl in the trees just off the road at the first house on
the right (search "45.458208,-76.022542" in Google Maps).

Turning right along Dunrobin Road, we scared off three Wild Turkeys
when we slowed down to have a look at them.

Not a bad day...
