Hi birders,
Yesterday afternoon in the bright warm sunlight there 4 White-winged
Crossbills again
feeding on cones on the numerous Spruce trees in the front yards of
our neighbours.
There were 3 males and 1 female.
Again on Saturday(Jan.31) I observed the 2 Snowy owls reported earlier
in the
Holland Marsh on Strawberry Lane. One was sitting on a hydro pole and
the other
on the end of a nearby greenhouse. The many Snow Buntings and Horned Larks
were still at the horse farm at hwy.9 and Jane St.. I found 2 Lapland
Longspurs
amongst them in the few minutes I scanned the flocks.
