Went for a walk at the Fletcher Wildlife Garden in Ottawa today. Not
much going on at the feeder, but when we returned to the parking lot
and were approaching our car, another arriving couple flushed a Merlin
with its kill from under our rear bumper. The Merlin clumsily flew
over to a clear area about 25 feet away and proceeded to rip apart its
Mourning Dove lunch. It moved a few more times, but could barely get
off the ground considering that its meal was as big as itself.

Quite the show. Lucky the other couple flushed it or we might have run
it over when backing out of our spot...

Fletcher Wildlife Garden is off of Prince of Wales Drive in the middle
of Ottawa. Search for "45.386776,-75.704577" on Google maps.
