The ponds and marsh at Point Pelee remain mostly frozen today (March
6th). However, one of the canals visible from the DeLaurier Trail had a
concentration of at least 25 Wood Ducks - mostly males.
There was also a large influx of Red-Winged Blackbirds today. The
Spotted Towhee was still at its usual spot at the "42", and a few Song
Sparrows added to the general feeling of spring.
