Greetings! A lovely day for birding. We went to Humber Bay East and over the bridge by the shore there were three Harlequin ducks cavorting about. They came quite close to shore providing beautiful views.
We also saw a Fox Sparrow, Winter Wren, GC Kinglet, among the usual birds. Practicing up on my Warbler viewing! Prior to this we were at Colonel Sam Smith Park and saw the Red Necked Grebes close to shore seducing each other. Along with Scaup, Long tailed Ducks, Gadwalls, and Horned Grebes. We saw one RNG swimming on it's back: which I had never seen before. Also at CSSP were tree swallows flying about and a small flock of Common Terns (we think) flew overhead. Humber Bay East it a Lakeshore Blvd and Parklawn. Get off of the Gardiner/QEW at Parklawn and it is south of the lights.
