Confirming again today that I saw the Common Loons (April 18, at Sam Smith). I dipped on the Eider though, unfortch. Thanks for all the updates. They made this Ottawa tourist a happy girl at the park today! I did, however, get nice freakshow looks at Long-tailed Ducks still in their winter plumage. The American Widgeons also made their presence known (see my recent Facebook photos).
Cheers and happy birding! > Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2009 19:31:51 -0400 > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Subject: [Ontbirds] Common Loons at Colonel Sam Smith in Toronto... > > Greetings! > > Another lovely day for it. > > We also saw the King Eider (looking more bulbous) along with the Common > Mergansers.
