This evening between 7:30 and 8:00 several thousand geese arrived at the
Moodie Drive pond south of Ottawa. Tremendous sight and sound. Amongst the
Canada Geese were at least five Snow Geese (2 dark form adult, 1 white adult
and two juveniles). Also, near the viewing gate on Moodie Drive there were 3
Greater White-fronted Geese. The previous day the show was about the same at
the same time of day.

Moodie Drive can be accessed from Hwy 416 by going (i) west at Fallowfield
then south on Moodie or (ii) west on Bankfield and north on Moodie. The pond
is in the NE corner of Moodie and Barnsdale. The pond is part of an
operating sandpit so the birds must be observed from outside the gate near
the pit office.
