Hello Birders!

Well, what can I say other than it was another great day of birding here at
Point Pelee National Park!

At least 19 different species of warbler were reported in the park today.

At the Tip this morning, observers were delighted by a singing Prairie
Warbler. A Yellow-breasted Chat was also noted on the East side of the
point this morning, along with a Northern Parula and Blackpoll Warbler. An
adult Little Gull was found at the Tip this afternoon.

A female Blue Grosbeak was found in the Sparrow Field mid-morning, but
attempts to relocate this bird were unsuccessful.

The Hooded Warbler was again noted from the Woodland Nature Trail this
morning, as were two Worm-eating Warblers.

The area around the Visitor Centre was fruitful today as well. Two
Blue-winged Warblers were found along the edge of the parking lot, in
addition to a Red-headed Woodpecker. A Louisiana Waterthrush was noted at
the Visitor Centre pond this morning (after being spotted from my office
window - another great office bird). A Black-billed Cuckoo was noted from
the Tildens Woods Trail.

The seasonal trail north from Blue Heron was also productive - a
Worm-eating warbler was found on the seasonal trail leading north from the
picnic area this morning was still present enjoying the late afternoon sun.
A record early Wilson's Warbler was also found along this trail and an
immature Black-crowned Night Heron was spotted in the trees along the edge
of the Marsh early this morning. A Golden-winged Warbler was noted along
the main road, just south of the entrance to the Marsh Boardwalk this
morning.

Willets were found at the Hillman Marsh Shorebird Habitat late this
afternoon - 7 Marbled Godwits and Short-billed Dowitchers were noted there
on the evening of the 26th.

That wraps it up - I'm off to find a worm-eating!

Good birding!
Sarah
