This evening at 7:30 PM I found a male Prairie Warbler at close range in Rattray Marsh. I found the bird at almost exactly the same spot where Wayne Renaud reported two Hooded Warblers on May 01.
I have borrowed Wayne's directions: Take Bexhill Road off of Lakeshore which is about 5 or 6 blocks east of Erin Mill Parkway and Lakeshore Road. Park on the street and walk downhill to the main trail that runs through the area. Turn right at the first path you come to and go to the intersection of the Knoll Trail and the Main Trail. Here you will see a small path veering to the right heading slightly uphill. The Prairie Warbler was seen at the top of the first hill to the left of the path in thick shrubs. I observed it for 10 minutes and it was still there when I left. Bruce Ferry Mississauga, Ont.
