Tonight, five American White Pelicans were found by Martin Daly at Cootes
Paradise in Hamilton. These pelicans were viewed from the Northshore Trails
at the Royal Botanical Gardens RBG but could also be viewed from the west
end of the high level bridge on York Blvd. in Hamilton. They were last
viewed on the water at 7:15 p.m. but could spend the night.

Directions to the high level bridge.

Take the 403 to Highway 6 North, follow the signs for Plains Road/York Blvd
(Royal Botanical Gardens) which is a right hand turn just after you exit
onto Hwy 6. At the stop lights, take Plains Road west which turns into York
Blvd. into Hamilton. The high level bridge crosses the water just before
you enter Hamilton. There are pull offs on both the east and west side of
the bridge as you are heading west on York Road. The Pelicans were tucked
around the corner of Rat island out in Cootes Paradise and were most easily
viewed from the west side of the bridge.
