Top birds today at Carden Alvar included a Great Egret in Prospect marshes, a Yellow-billed Cuckoo, several Grasshopper and Clay-coloured Sparrows, 3 Golden-winged Warblers, 2 or 3 merlins, ravens, a Yellow-throated Vireo + the usual Upland Sandpipers, snipe, bluebirds, towhees, sora, two American bitterns, etc ... no cranes, shrikes or sedge wrens to be found amongst our 89 species.
