While birding the Baselands in the Wet Woods this morning I saw a female KIRTLAND'S WARBLER (near the fire pit). I had seen the male on Thursday evening but was not 100% certain, so didn't post. The sighting was confirmed by another birder.
There continues to be quite a lot of activity with: Redstart Wilson Blackpoll Yellow warbler Swainson's Thrush Redeyed Vireo many flycatchers: Willow, Least, E. Wood Pewee, Kingbird and Cedar Waxwings. It is wet, so boots are suggested. Out by the Lighthouse, at the end of "The Spit" a lone RUDDY TURNSTONE was present on the lake side. SPPOTTED SANDPIPERS were also present. Swallows (seen among the Chimney Swifts) Tree, Barn and Cliff. The Spit and Wet Woods can be accessed from the base of Leslie Street about 1 mile south of Queen St. Elizabeth McKernan Toronto _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
