My wife Elaine and I were blessed to observe a Northern Wheatear in our gravel
pit this morning, Thursday June 4th. It was an adult male and stayed for just
over 1 hour. We live on 76 acres of mixed forest, field and gravel pit ( moss,
short grasses and gravel ) 17 km northeast of North Bay on Highway 63. It has
been reported to OFO with confirming photographs. We'll check Friday morning to
see if it returns although we did not observe it Thursday afternoon or evening.
