Small flock of Pine Siskins keeping company with Goldfinches in Brome Lake area SE of Montreal. Apparently this is an 'irruption year' for this species, with many more sightings at winter feeders 2008-2009. Apparently they breed communally, accounting for the flock status even during the nesting season. Salmonella eye infections thought not to be a problem this year.
