Hello birders. At the public beach off Mud Creek Trail in Port Franks were several shorebirds poking around the sand flats. In the hour I was there at suppertime, I saw nine Sanderlings, and Solitary and Spotted Sandpipers as well as a male and juvenile Bonaparte's Gull and Arctic Terns. Also, there was a single roly poly Semi Palmated Plover, both legs with white bands. Perhaps he came from Sauble Beach. At the inland lake off Outer Drive in the section between McCordic and Edward, two adult Sandhill Cranes can be found about 30 metres into the swamp, skulking around in the reeds pretending they're not actually there (their big heads give them away every time). Also around the ponds at the water crossing and just east: Blue Grey Gnatcatcher, and Yellow and Nashville Warbler along with the more mundane residents.
