Highlights of reports received August 13 through August 20 from the Niagara Frontier Region include WESTERN SANDPIPER, WILLET and MERLIN.

August 15 and 16, an adult WESTERN SANDPIPER was reported in the soybean field on Hulbert Road, just north of Youngstown- Wilson Road, in the Niagara County Town of Wilson. Also at this location, SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, SEMIPALM. SANDPIPER, LEAST SANDPIPER and PECTORAL SANDPIPER.

At Dunkirk Harbor, August 18, an impressive 5 WILLETS, plus a SANDERLING, on the Main Street beach.

 August 14 in the Town of Amherst, a MERLIN in a yard in  Snyder.

From Buffalo this week - at Tifft Nature Preserve, dozens of GREEN HERONS at Lisa Pond with LEAST BITTERN, many BL.-CR. NIGHT-HERONS, GREAT EGRET, WOOD DUCK and PIED-BILLED GREBE. Also in the Preserve, OSPREY and CASPIAN TERN. And at the Bird Island Pier, 4 LEAST SANDPIPERS and an AMERICAN BLACK DUCK.
