My 9-yr-old son Carlos and I saw an Adult Bald Eagle soaring above the beach this afternoon at Lac La Peche in Gatineau Park. See Google Map link below for location.
Last week we were lucky to have seen a juvenile bald eagle in Grand Manan, along with sightings of Red-necked Phalaropes, Semi-Palmated Plovers, Puffins, Common and Arctic Terns, Double Crested Cormorants, Common Murre, a family of Ring-necked Pheasants, Greater Shearwater (but alas to my son's dismay no Cory Shearwaters) and what were certain was a Little Egret because of the dark lores but others had identified as a Snowy Egret - all-in-all a fascinating time for a nine-year-old birder! http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=lac+la+peche,+que bec&sll=49.891235,-97.15369&sspn=39.529062,79.013672&ie=UTF8&z=11 Cheers, Gillian Shields Barbery _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
