Breaking news: the first WHIP-POOR-WILL of the season was calling and
then observed just minutes before the weekly birding report "went to
press" and reported just minutes after. It was at the south end of the
beach 1 parking lot. A PECTORAL SANDPIPER on the beach would also have
been mentioned in the report had that not been sent off prematurely.
