For those looking for an evening activity, the lighting conditions are great
at the beach. At least four Sabine's Gulls were seen, one adult when I was
present and at least two Kittiwakes are still present out there. A scope is
helpful but there are a few down at the beach. What an extreme treat to see
a Sabine's Gull and Kittiwake in the same scope view. I believe this is
only the second record of an adult Sabine's Gull for Hamilton. Thanks to
Barry Cherriere for keeping the reports coming.

Directions to Van Wagners Beach: Take the Centennial Parkway (Hwy.20)> exit
from the QEW in east Hamilton and proceed north to the North> Service Rd.,
turn left and continue west as it turns into Van Wagners> Road. Continue to
the parking lots at either Hutch's Restaurant or the> Lakeland Centre
viewing tower and view the lake anywhere near here.

Cheers,

Cheryl
