At 2:30 today there was a Stilt Sandpiper in a small patch of standing water on
a sod field off Hwy 50. Also present were 13 Lesser Yellowlegs, 9 Least
Sandpipers and 2 Solitary Sandpipers.

Directions: Go west from Alliston on Hwy 89. Turn left (south) onto Hwy 50.
Proceed south about 3 km. The sod farms are about half way between the 30th
and 25th sideroads, on the east side just north of the trailer campground.
Check the standing water on the west side as well.

The sod farms nearer Beeton were unproductive today, although yesterday there
was a flock of about 100 Golden Plovers at the corner of the 15th sideroad and
the 11th concession. Sanding water in the area is rapidly drying up, leaving
less attractive habitat for shorebirds.
