Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours
Official Counter: Seth Cutright
Observers: Fred Kirn, Jim Linch, Raburn Howland, Rodney Laura,
Terry Angevine
Weather:
Wind was mostly light and from the North-East at around 5-10MPH. The first
few hours was around 0% cloud cover. Then the last few hours it was around
50%. It was a little hazy but also mostly clear early. For the rest of
the day it was clear visibility.
Raptor Observations:
First on this hot and slow day I would like to thank everyone who came out,
and or who helped do some spotting. It was very slow at times with the
last two hours being the best. 34 was the 2nd last hour total, and 32 was
the last hour total.
The last two hours had counts of 29 and 28 Sharp-shinned Hawks. Three
Bald Eagles went over too, and were the first ones of the season.
Non-raptor Observations:
Other highlights were of three Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, and probably
over 100 Monarch Butterflies.
Predictions:
Friday should be about the same as the first few days...warm, and light
winds from the East, and either North-East or maybe South-East....Numbers
should be about the same too..
