Most migrating raptors were picked up in the distance to the east, they
moving slowly across the north end of our wetland.
Migrating Raptor Observations:
5 turkey vulture, 5 osprey, 1 1st yr. Bald Eagle, 1 n.harrier, 36
Sharp-shinned, 1 Broad-winged, 3 red-tailed,
9 Am.kestrel, 2 Merlin
Non-raptor Observations: 48 SPECIES, incl. marsh wren, many hummingbirds,
Wilson's warbler, black-crowned night-heron,
black-&-white warbler, Am.redstart, YELLOW WARBLER, 2 GREAT
EGRETS,Nashville warbler, common yellowthroat,
red-eyed vireo, AMERICAN BITTERN, magnolia warbler, PHILADELPHIA VIREO, 7
GOLDEN PLOVERS.
From the 401 eastbound, exit at Salem Rd. in Ajax, south to Bayly, then
east through LakeRidge Rd. to the first street beyond--Hall's Rd.--south
toward the lake to the second roadside parking area.
