Wind was about 5-10 MPH most of the day, and from the East-North-East also. Cloud cover went from 40% to 95% late in the day. Raptor Observations: By the last three hours or so the flight was very high. The 11-12 hour was the best hour with a total of 65. 43 of those were Broad-winged Hawks. Sharp-shinned Hawks had a total of 18 for that same hour. Non-raptor Observations: Not much else was really seen or around. I guess a good number of American Robins were seen early. Along with several Northern Flickers. First raptor of the day was a Merlin that came in and tried to get either a Robin or a Starling, so that was fun to see. Predictions: Looks like about the same weather for Thursday as it was today, winds maybe a little lighter at times. This means flight and numbers should be about the same. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Seth Cutright ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
