Very few migrating raptors--the 32 were picked up in the distance to the
east, they
moving slowly across the north end of our wetland.
Migrating Raptor Observations:
11 turkey vulture, 4 osprey, 6 Sharp-shinned, 1 Cooper's, 2 Broad-winged,
3 red-tailed,
3 Am.kestrel, 2 Unidentified
Non-raptor Observations: marsh wren, many hummingbirds, Wilson's
warbler, black-&-white warbler,
Am.redstart, magnolia warbler, 2 GREAT EGRETS, Nashville warbler, common
yellowthroat,
AMERICAN BITTERN, swamp sparrow, common loon, VIRGINIA RAIL, rose-breasted
grosbeak, and
many more.
From the 401 eastbound, exit at Salem Rd. in Ajax, south to Bayly, then
east through LakeRidge Rd. to the first street beyond--Hall's Rd.--south
toward the lake to the second roadside parking area.
