Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 9 hours

Official Counter: Josh Haas

Observers:

Visitors:
It was the second day of the annual Hawk Fest hosted by the Lake Erie
Metropark. Kudos to their staff and all of the vendors. Thanks to all the
visitors, which were too many to keep track.

Weather:
Winds were out of the east most of the day. Clear conditions predominated,
with a bit of nice cirrus in the later part of the day. Barometric pressure
fell throughout the day, especially in the afternoon with the incoming
storm systems.

Raptor Observations:
It was a poor day of broad-wing watching in comparison with earlier in the
week and yesterday. The broad-wing push will have to wait until after these
storms starting tonight. However, turkey vultures had a strong showing with
102. This is the highest count this year by far. Red-tails were also the
best of the season with 17. Bald eagles were notable with seven.

Non-raptor Observations:
An adult mississippi kite flew over in the 4th hour (submittal of
photographs to Michigan Rare Birds Committee forthcoming).

Predictions:
Storms acomin'.
