A total of 17 visitors to the Tower today including Sarah Rupert and Wray
and Judy Hawke.


Weather:
Overcast to mostly cloudy with a few sprinkles early in the first hour.
South-southeast to Southeast winds at 1 to 7 mph, but noticeably stronger
onshore flow along the lakeshore. Warm and humid with temps. ranging from
20.7 to about 25C.

Raptor Observations:
Not surprisingly, it was an incredibly slow September day with an average
of about 9 raptors per hour.

Non-raptor Observations:
10 species of waterfowl,

Black-crowned Night-heron- 3,
Bald Eagle- about 6 locals,

Shorebirds included Killdeer(14), Greater(1) and Lesser(2) Yellowlegs, and
Solitary Sandpiper(2). 3 Pectoral Sandpipers with 2 peep sp. yesterday, 20
Sep.

Chimney Swift- 10,
Ruby-throated Hummingbird- 6,

presumed Alder Flycatcher- 1 (silent),

Blue Jay- 4,175,

Swainson's Thrush- 1,

Blue-headed Vireo- 1,

Low diversity of warblers on the ground; only 6 species noted.

Cedar Waxwing- 85,

Rose-breasted Grosbeak- 2 
American Goldfinch- 125,

Other:
Monarch- 15
Few dragonflies today.

Predictions:
Similar warm and muggy conditions in place for tomorrow with more
unfavorable South winds up to 8 mph. High of 26C. Chance of PM t-storms
around 20%.
