Weather: medium NE wind, becoming E; barometric pr. 102.6, rising; 16C
The first 2 hours brought most of the hawks. THE BLUE SKY MAY HAVE
PREVENTED US SEEING MORE. The wind shifted to Easterly, and the
raptors cut right off.
Migrating Raptor Observations: SEE TABLE BELOW
14 turkey vultures, 1 Osprey, 3 BALD EAGLES, 3 Sharp-shinned, 2 Cooper's,
3 Broad-winged, 1 Red-tailed, 2 Am.Kestrel
Non-raptor Observations: YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, 1 hummingbird,
rose-breasted grosbeak, 2 GREAT EGRETS, swamp sparrow, marsh wren,
yellow-bellied sapsucker, both kinglets, Wilson's snipe, white-throated
sparrow, among others
Monarch Butterflies--10+; Mourning Cloak-1
From the 401 eastbound, exit at Salem Rd. in Ajax, south to Bayly, then
east through LakeRidge Rd. to the first street beyond--Hall's Rd.--south
toward the lake to the second roadside parking area.
