----------------------------------------------------------------------

Observation start time: 06:00:00
Observation end time: 16:00:00
Total observation time: 10 hours

Official Counter: Colin Horstead

Observers: Ed Taylor, Eric Single, Jan Niewiadomski, Jim Dunn,
Jim Longhurst, Kathy, Keith Sealy, Mark Cunningham,
Mary Carnahan, Mike Kirchin, Ronnie Goodhand, Tom Bolohan

Weather:
Light winds from mostly from the W with a slight nudge to the WNW for a
couple of hours midmorning. Temp got to just 15C...and humidity was fairly
high for a good portion go the count period. Lots of cloud cover...though
the sun managed to poke through on and off most of the day.

Raptor Observations:
A decent flight today with 1077 birds tallied... including TV's (658),
Sharpies (275) and even a small flight of Broadwings (24). At least there
were Kesterls moving today (86)...and some Peregrines (9) made an
appearance as well. Should also mention the single Red-shouldered Hawk and
a good flight of Cooper's (13).

Non-raptor Observations:
Today's list of Passerines includes just a couple of warbler species:
Yellow-rumped and Nashville, E. Towhee, Am. Robin, Gray Catbird, YB
Sapsucker, RB Woodpecker, both RC and GC Kinglets, House Wren, E. Bluebird,
both RB and WB Nuthatch, good sized flights of Am. Goldfinch and Killdeer,
Starlings and mixed flocks of blackbirds, and flocks of WT Sparrow on the
ground around the hawkwatch site.

Predictions:
Winds are predicted to be SE but light...so birds already down at the lake
may be spotted moving along past the hawkwatch. Weather is supposed to be a
mix of sun and cloud.
