One grade school group of 48, led by Bev Wannick, in addition to 5 other
visitors, including Gerald Peltier.


Weather:
Mostly cloudy to overcast skies with calm South-southeast winds at 0 to 3
mph throughout the AM, then turning Southeast, and occasionally
East-southeast, in the PM and increasing to 4 to 7 mph. Temps. ranged from
12.5 to 16.7C. Visibility was good.

Raptor Observations:
Aside from the small movement of vultures it was a fairly uneventful day
for raptors.

Non-raptor Observations:
11 species of waterfowl,

Black-crowned Night-Heron- 1,
Common Moorhen- 6+ (lingering),

Bald Eagle- at least 4 locals, 

Killdeer- 167,
Lesser Yellowlegs- 6,
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER- 1 (calling flyover shortly after noon),

Common Nighthawk- 1,
Chimney Swift- 6,
Ruby-throated Hummingbird- 1 (late),

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker- 2,

Tree Swallow- 1,000+ (numbers up slightly from yesterday),
N. Rough-winged Swallow- 5,

Blue Jay- 44,350,

Brown Thrasher- 2 (local pair),

Am. Pipit- 138,
Cedar Waxwing- 113,

Warblers noted include Magnolia(3+), Palm(2) Yellow-rumped(50+), and
Common Yellowthroat(2).

Indigo Bunting- 3,

Dark-eyed Junco- 2,

Purple Finch- ,
House Finch- 17,
Am. Goldfinch- 2,385,

Other:
Monarch- 25.


Predictions:
Mostly cloudy skies with AM rain showers possible. Strong West to
West-northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph. High of 14C. Chance of AM rain around
90%. A decent flight should materialize once this strong frontal system
moves off to the east.
