Birders
In recent years the Brighton Constructed Wetland has been visited by
many Ontbirds readers. It is appreciated by many more. The wetland has
restricted access and permission is required to visit it. That access
has only been possible because volunteers give their time and energy.
It has just come to my attention that today (Sunday Oct. 18) '20+ people
entered the wetland without permission'.
Maureen Campeau spent 6 weeks putting together a report that hopefully
will create a permitting system for accessing the wetland. That could
be in jeopardy because a relatively small group choice to ignore
existing conditions for access. You can view the wetlands from the
roadside viewing platform but you cannot enter the property without
first contacting Keith Lee.

The Wetland is located exactly 7.2 kilometres south of Highway 401 at
exit 509. Just follow the road right around through town. The wetland
is located on the right side of the road as you come around a sweeping
bend on County Road 64.
