Visitors:
Six visitors in all, including Donna Bedard of Toronto, Olga Klekner, Rene
Kielbasa, and 3 biologists from Pelee Island.


Weather:
Mostly to partly cloudy skies with South-southeast to Southeast winds at 1
to 7 mph becoming East-southeast by 1400 EST. Temps. ranged from 12.8 to
about 16C. Visibility reduced to less than 15 km by persistent haze.

Raptor Observations:
Small kettles of Turkey Vultures continued to pass despite the winds. A
slight up-tick in Sharpies from previous two days. A few Redtails decided
to move later in the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
14 species of waterfowl,

Black-crowned Night-heron- 2 juv.,
Great Egret- 10,
Common Moorhen- 2,

Killdeer- 38,
Wilson's Snipe- 2,

Bonaparte's Gull- 5,

Chimney Swift- 25+ (as many as 25 in view at once, good count for date),

Eastern Wood-Pewee- 1,

Horned Lark- 1,345 (several flocks numbering 100 to 200 birds),

Tree Swallow- 50+,
N. Rough-winged Swallow- 10,

Blue Jay- 2,440,
Am. Crow- 80,

Eastern Bluebird- 20+ (few more heard but not seen)
Am. Robin- 155,

Am. Pipit- 75,
Cedar Waxwing- 91,

Purple Finch- 15,
House Finch- 39,
Am. Goldfinch- 3,575.

Predictions:
Mostly cloudy skies with rain showers possible after noon. Southwest winds
at 10 to 15 mph. High of 15C. Chance of rain around 40%. Raptors will
likely stay put ahead of the advancing frontal system.
