Highlights of reports received October 15 through October 22 from the Niagara Frontier Region include WHITE IBIS, CALIFORNIA GULL, GR. WHITE-FR. GOOSE and BRANT.

October 21, in the Tonawanda Wildlife Management Area, an unexpected rediscovery of a juvenile WHITE IBIS in the egret roost at Woods and Hunt Club Marshes. Last reported September 29, it was thought this ibis had wandered to the north shore of Lake Ontario. Either two birds or one big round trip?

October 17, CALIFORNIA GULL, on the New York shore downriver from the power plants, viewed from the Beck Overlook in Ontario. Above the Three Sisters Islands in Niagara Falls, New York, 3 L. BLACK-B. GULLS, and abundant numbers of N. ROUGH-W. SWALLOWS continue over the rapids.

From the Iroquois Refuge, October 21, 8 GR. WHITE-FR. GEESE and 5 CACKLING GEESE at Mallard Overlook on Sour Springs Road. Another CACKLING GOOSE at the Batavia Waste Water Plant, plus 7 GREATER SCAUP, 2 RED-BR. MERGANSERS, 35 RUDDY DUCKS, 2 EARED GREBES, GREATER YELLOWLEGS, DUNLIN and 5 AMERICAN PIPITS.

Since October 15, a single BRANT among the CANADA GEESE at LaSalle Park, on Porter Avenue in Buffalo. Off the park, COMMON GOLDENEYE and RED-BR. MERGANSER.

October 18, 2 RED-THROATED LOONS on Lake Ontario at Dietz Road in the Town of Porter, with over 200 COMMON LOONS and a LONG-TAILED DUCK.

 At Tifft Nature Preserve in Buffalo, October 17, 2 BLUE-
 HEADED VIREOS, with BROWN CREEPER, GOLDEN-CR. KINGLET, RUBY-
CR. KINGLET, HERMIT THRUSH, NASHVILLE WARBLER, FIELD SPARROW, FOX SPARROW, SONG SPARROW, LINCOLN'S SPARROW, SWAMP SPARROW and WHITE-THR. SPARROW.

Other reports this week - 200 D.-CREST. CORMORANTS feeding at Strawberry Island in the upper Niagara River. On Grand Island, a BALD EAGLE briefly perched in a yard on the West River Parkway. 301 AMERICAN CROWS, counted in ten minutes over a Williamsville yard, likley en route to the crow roost at Forest Lawn in Buffalo. And, 2 PILEATED WOODPECKERS at the Tillman Wildlife Management Area in Clarence.
