Greetings ONTBirders: The BLACKPOLL WARBLER first reported by Jeff Skevington on Nov. 7 is still present at Dick Bell Park, foraging on the three evergreens nearest the lighthouse. On the shore of the eastern duck pond at Andrew Haydon Park, among a small flock of RING-BILLED GULLS, was a single THAYER'S GULL, I believe to be a 3rd year bird. There were nearly 20 LESSER SCAUP, all female except for one, on the western pond, as well as two male and three female GREEN-WINGED TEAL in their usual places. On the Ottawa River was a large raft of mostly LESSER SCAUP, with some BUFFLEHEAD and mostly male COMMON GOLDENEYE mixed in. Good birding! Turn north and follow to Carling Ave. Turn left and follow to Andrew Haydon Park (Holly Acres Road) and turn right.
