Weather: Overcast skies with persistent haze throughout the day. South-southwest to Southwest winds at 1 to 6 mph (less than 3 most of the day). Temps. ranged from 12 to a high of 14 C. Visibility was reduced significantly by haze; from 5 to 8 km. Raptor Observations: A very slow day with only 6 raptors before noon. Things picked up a little in the 1200 to 1300 EST hour (32 raptors), but quickly returned to a trickle, at best. One imm. Red-shouldered Hawk was eastbound along the shoreline (not counted). Non-raptor Observations: 13 species of waterfowl, Bald Eagle- 2 (resident pair), Killdeer- 1, Horned Lark- 675, Am. Crow- 110, Am. Pipit- 145, Cedar Waxwing- 50, Am. Tree Sparrow- 6, Song Sparrow- 1, Swamp Sparrow- 1, Lapland Longspur- 5+, Rusty Blackbird- 20+, Purple Finch- 2, Am. Goldfinch- 220. Predictions: Overcast to partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated sprinkles before noon. North-northeast winds at 10 to 15 mph. High of 13C. Chance of rain around 30%.
