Ontbirds subscribers,

Glad to hear the Phainopepla stayed around for others to enjoy - always
gratifying.

Just a note to let observers know that the recent warm front that swept through
southern Ontario has likely deposited many vagrants to our area, with some
probably yet to be found.

In addition to the Ash-throated Flycatcher at Point Pelee and the Phainopepla
in Brampton, a Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher hit a window at an Oakville residence
on 6 November. Despite being brought to a rehabilitation centre, the bird died
two days later, and the specimen will be deposited at the ROM.

While the conditions are still fairly mild, it seems it would be a good idea to
check your favourite known local migrant traps soon.

Good birding,

Glenn Coady
