Just a follow up to Karl's post. The bird flew south out of the tree that Karl
mentioned shorly after Karl left. We walked back to Addington Cres. where the
bird had flown and where our car was parked.
As we were walking east along Addington Cres. we were looking for the bird and
met Andrew Keaveny we were just telling him that the bird had flown this way
when is saw it perched in the open in a bare tree in the front yard at 90
Addington Cres. The bird was still perched in the open when we left after about
20 minutes at 5 pm. Most of the birders in the area were notified and had
excellent looks.
The neighbours were quite friendly and interested in what was drawing all the
attention. As the bird was seen in quite a few different locations over the
course of the day, I believe the best strategy is to park your car and walk the
area. Traffic congestion may present a problem on the weekend if everyone tries
to park close to the location where the bird was last reported.
