Hey all, Andrew Keaveney and Tim Sneider report a juvenile Golden Eagle at the Port Stanley Sewage lagoons today at around 8:30AM. The bird was on the far side of the lagoons across from the first viewing platform in a large maple tree. It was around for almost an hour before taking flight. Also a Pectoral Sandpiper and 2 Dunlin were present this morning. Late yesterday afternoon they also had a Barn Swallow at the Lagoons.
At Port Bruce yesterday, a 1st year Brant was present in the canal. Interestingly, they observed a Ring-billed Gull the same day attempting to consume a large Yellow-spotted salamander along one of the beaches in Port Burwell. Cheers, Dominic Cormier Guelph Directions: Port Stanley: >From Hwy 401 - Exit at Exit #164 ( Cty Rd 20 or Union Rd ). Drive southeast on >Union Rd for approx. 11 or 12kms to Boxall Rd.
