A single Greater White-fronted Goose was in Bond Head south of Newcastle around noon today and seen by Jerry Ball, Anne Anthony, and me. The bird was in a flock of Canada Geese next to the small car park there. The geese seemed unafraid of the people in the area and we could walk to within 10 metres of the bird.
To reach Bond Head go south from the 401 at Exit 440, Mill Street, and follow this road to the small harbour. For winter listers, we also saw the Marsh Wren today at the north lookout on Hall's Rd, Cranberry Marsh, Whitby Tony Bigg _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
