At 8 o'clock this morning I came upon a HY Cooper's Hawk clutching a Mourning
Dove, right on the surface of Progress Road. I stopped my car 20 feet from it
and had to honk at it in order to get it to fly off, with effort, to a nearby
tree. I am posting this sighting on account of the surprising circumstances, as
Progress Road is a busy thoroughfare in a commercial/industrial area.
