Ontbirders: After much searching, I re-located the Hooded Merganser x Bufflehead (?) hybrid off of Hiawatha Pk. in Mississauga. In my opinion, I think that its jizz fits a male Goldeneye x female Hooded Merganser partnership better.
This park is at the foot of Hiawatha Pkwy., about one km. west of Lakefront Promenade Pk. The sheltered bays in the latter park apparently froze solid last night. Complicating matters further, a Great Black-backed Gull was terrorizing the rafts of ducks along that stretch of shoreline. The immaculate male Harlequin Duck and its harem of three females was very close to shore west of Saddington Pk. Additionally, an adult Glaucous gull was in Pt. Credit Harbour. Good luck, Alfred Adamo, Toronto [email protected] _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
