Highlights from the power plants and upriver roosting rocks, as seen from
Devil's Hole State Park on the NY side:

A Herring-sized but darker-backed gull was on the roosting rocks for
several hours. It had peach-colored legs and a smudgy but light eye.
Characteristics support LeBB x Herring hybrid.

-all four plumages of Lesser Black-backed Gull were seen
-2nd winter Thayer's Gull, possibly the one that's been at Goat Island in
the upriver rapids
-lots of Herrings and Ring-bills,,,,,,,not a lot of Bonaparte's when I was
there
-a few Iceland Gulls but I didn't notice a Glaucous or the Nelson's
-virtually no Bonaparte's flyby and I didn't see the leucistic Bonaparte's
which has flown by on two previous occasions
