Hello Birders, As was previously reported, the Barnacle Goose was still present today. I viewed it at around 10:00 am this morning. It was not at the pump house, but on the lawn in a small park at the intersection of Lakeside Dr and Old Orchard Ave. It was with a flock of Canadas.
>From Grimsby, I birded my way back to Toronto, including trying for the Wilson's Warbler in Oakville. I did not locate the Wilson's and also did not see the Ruby-crowned Kinglet previously reported here. I did see a Winter Wren. Also as previously reported, all 4 Harlequin Ducks were present at Saddington Park in Mississauga around 3:30 pm. They were at the very western end of the park, just before the houses begin. They were all very close to shore and I actually had to walk onto the rocks at the water's edge in order to view them. All in all, not a bad day. Other birds of note included 9 Black Scoters on the lake shore in Stoney Creek and a total of 28 species of waterfowl (including the Barnacle Goose). Please see previous posts for directions to these sites. Good Birding!
