I and quite a number of other birders whose names I did not get saw the
Harlequins this morning. One male and two females were together, while a third
female was off by herself. We also had absolutely spectacular looks at an adult
Coopers Hawk that did not mind at all the steady parade of dog-walkers, joggers
and birders just 40 feet away and sat patiently on top of a broken-off tree,
allowing superb views from front, back and side.
Directions: Saddington Park is at the foot of Mississauga Rd. in Mississauga.
Park in the parking lot, then take the path beside the lake west. The path
climbs near a small jetty. The lone female was beside this jetty, and the other
three were further away but could be seen from this rise.
